Annual Fund

One thing that appeals to many garden and nature lovers is how the outside world is constantly changing. We plant seeds now knowing that our great grandchildren will enjoy the fruits of our labors later. Like all of nature, San Diego Botanic Garden continues to grow and evolve. New features include the Hamilton Children’s Garden and the Lawn House Garden. We’ve added to our events with the new Bromeliad Bash and a collaboration with the La Jolla Playhouse. We’re growing our arts offerings such as Sculpture in the Garden and Garden Expressions. With each addition we are reaching out to let you know that this is your Garden.
Our future is full of opportunity and we will continue to look for ways to inspire a love of plants and nature in people of all ages. Recently we updated our Master Plan, and now our Board of Trustees is carefully considering our next steps for Phase II of the Hamilton Children’s Garden. We look forward to sharing the news of our next venture with you in the coming year.
As a non-profit organization we depend upon continued investment from nature-lovers like you to fund the many ways we connect our community with the natural world. Your tax-deductible gift to our annual fund supports the care and beautification of this 37-acre garden and makes it possible for us to continue offering the educational opportunities and connection to nature that our community needs. Please let your love of the wonder and beauty of nature guide your giving this holiday season. Thank you!

Your gift to our annual fund makes all this, and more, possible:

We would like to offer a small gift or two to help you stay connected with the
Garden and nature when you’re not here.

For each gift of $100 or more we will reserve a San Diego Botanic Garden flower pot mug. Enjoy your coffee or tea in a mug that looks like a pot, or put your favorite plant in a pot that looks like a mug – it’s your choice! |

For each gift of $250 or more we will reserve a pair of Richard Louv books. You’ll receive a hardcover edition of his new book The Nature Principle: Human Restoration and the End of Nature-Deficit Disorder and a paperback copy of Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder. Louv, who was honored at our 2007 Gala in the Garden, provides a thought-provoking call to action for getting both children and adults back outdoors. |
Thank you!
