Artist’s Statement: The sculpture’s surface provides a subtle reflection of the surroundings and the viewer. At the center of the organic shape a textured inner space is revealed, as a window to a hidden soulscape. Poetic, silent witness, it invites the passerby into a journey of self-discovery.

Artist Bio: M. Luna De Matteis was born overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Viña del Mar, Chile, on 1972’s Earth Day.

She started traveling when she was a doodling toddler, which brought about a case of itchy feet that she’s been trying to tame in San Diego, CA.

She uses striking combinations of materials to create one-of-a-kind two and three dimensional art of an abstract, organic, and poetic nature. Her work is in public and private collections in the US and abroad.
