Artist’s Statement: These wildflowers are made from salvaged steel. Each flower is unique. They are individually torch cut, painted and assembled by hand. If kept outside they will age gracefully, changing over time from the vivid colors of their youth to a natural, distinguished-looking, rust-colored patina.

Artist Bio: Formerly a graphic designer, Jon’s pursuit of a career “outside the box” led him into many different creative endeavors. He discovered a passion for working with steel when he apprenticed with Sheri Fox of Mad Dog Metal. A scavenger at heart, Jon finds inspiration in the personality of the salvaged items he finds and truly enjoys creating something of value from what would otherwise be discarded. Though he enjoys making whimsical garden and wall sculptures, he finds a balance between his practical nature and his creative soul in designing and building functional furniture pieces.
