Artist’s Bio, Leslie Wilton: Once upon a time I blew glass. Blacksheep was my name. I was represented by numerous fine art and fine craft galleries all across America. But I traded my glassblowing studio for a machine shop and tried a different path. A decade later, the machine shop has morphed into a metal studio and I have discovered a new medium.
We are so blessed here in America. So blessed and so wasteful. When I was growing up, we never threw anything away. What we didn’t use up was either handed down, remade, recycled, or reused. Stuff we no longer wanted, we found new homes for.
Now I rescue discarded metal from a slow death of rust and decay. I enjoy breathing new life info otherwise useless items. It’s fun, creative, and “green.” And it keeps stuff out of our landfills. It’s my own personal crusade to combat our throwaway society, on piece of ZjHunk at a time!
Artist’s Bio, Paul Wilton: Having been on the technical side of art for 25 years, I was always the “go-to guy” for any sort of tool or tooling an artist might need. In my career as a master machinist, I have invented many products and tools to improve artists lives and hold letters of patent for several of these inventions.
I now find myself on the other side of the fence. I guess being around art and artists so much over the last two decades, it’s kind of rubbed off on me. I now enjoy nothing more than transforming unique discarded items into whimsical, colorful creations that hopefully will bring joy to people’s lives.
