Tribute and Memorial Gifts - The Gardens’ tribute program is a wonderful way to honor family and friends throughout the year. A personal acknowledgment is sent to the family or individual being honored, without reference to the size of the gift, and your tribute is listed in the Gardens’ quarterly newsletter. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and engagements, graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or any holiday... or as an expression of sympathy. Purchase a Commemorative Tile in the Hamilton Children’s Garden – remember or pay lasting tribute to a loved one by having their name and/or a message of your choice etched in an attractive tile in the sitting walls located in high traffic areas of the Hamilton Children’s Garden.

Appreciated investments - avoid capital gains tax and receive a full income tax deduction.

Life insurance gifts - naming the Gardens as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy generally entitles you to a tax deduction approximately equal to the cash surrender value of the policy.

Deferred gifts - planned giving is the cornerstone of San Diego Botanic Garden's history and the key to its future. Because of this, the Arbor Vitae Guild was established to honor the Gardens’ many friends in the community who have indicated that they have included the Gardens in their wills or trusts. Bequests of all sizes are welcome, for they ensure San Diego Botanic Garden's vitality for the benefit of future generations. Endowment gifts - a contribution to our endowment fund at the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation, Jewish Community Foundation, or The San Diego Foundation will help ensure the financial future of the Gardens by providing annual income while the principal remains untouched.
