Saturday Morning General Tour for Individual Visitors
Docent guided general tours are offered every Saturday for individual visitors. Tours depart at 10:30 am and do not require a reservation. Due to the construction the meeting place for the Saturday tour will be on the main parking lot at the Welcome / Entrance Sign. This general tour is included with paid admission or SDBG membership. 

First Tuesdays
As a public service, the Garden offers free admission to
San Diego County residents
(ID required) on the first Tuesday of every month.
Parking is $2 on Free Tuesday.
Exact change is appreciated.


Pet Policy

No pets of any kind are allowed in the Garden. However, Service Animals are allowed in the Garden. 

Service Animal Policy

Per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) – “Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.” Please abide by these Service Animal policies in the Garden.

Unattended Animals

California state law prohibits leaving animals in any unattended motor vehicle. (California Penal Code Section 597.7). Guests are not allowed to bring their pets and leave them unattended in their vehicles at any time. All violators will be reported to the authorities and will result in expulsion from the Garden.


Drone Policy

Out of safety concerns for guests, employees, and property, San Diego Botanic Garden prohibits the unauthorized operation or use of any unmanned aerial systems, or aerial drones, at any time – including recreational users and hobbyists. This prohibition includes drones for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating over any property under control of San Diego Botanic Garden. This prohibition on drone operations or use extends to any drones launched or operated from the Garden, as well as drones launched from property outside the Garden’s boundaries.
